Last week the top bridal designers showcased their 2014 Spring collections at Bridal Fashion Week. Among my favourites were Monique Lhuillier's beautiful gowns that still embody the elements I loved about her collection last year; lace, beading and structured layering. I also loved the range of capes that took to the runway that are perfectly suited to our current climate here in Oz. Recently we looked at the 'caped veil' trend explored by Elie Saab and Karlie Kloss. Here, the capes embrace sheer lace in shoulder-hugging silhuettes. There is definitely no need for a veil here, just a sleek up-do to balance out the full coverage of the gown. I hope you enjoy my selection of favourite gowns from the collection.

I would love to know if any brides out there plan on embracing a lace cape.
