One Fine Day February 2013

Last weekend I visited One Fine Day at Sydney's Sun Studios. It was a great chance to catch up with colleagues and view their new creations and concepts. I may have spent too much time talking and when I wasn't taking, stuffing my face with nougat, but my husband and I still managed to grab some snaps of our favourite pieces. We start with a peach table brought together by One Fine Collective...
The beautiful floral place card holders for this styled table were made by Paper Couture and hand painted to give them a malleable texture. Her stand (bellow) combined the beauty of textured papers with dreamy calligraphy by  Written by Hand. I loved the look of pastel handwriting on soft brown paper.
Samantha Wills' jewels are always a pleasure to photograph.  Bathed in soft candle light and watched over by an exquisite bird or two her bridal collection is glowing and brings a look of authenticity and craftsmanship to every piece.
Now for the close up. My favourite piece 'Heart of Aries' is yet to be released. Don't worry, I've already dropped the hint to my husband a couple of times. He is aware that because I am an Aries I have full purchasing privileges as a birth right, hehe.
Calling all vintage brides, High Tea enthusiasts and country girls. These invitations by Invitation Tea Towels are guaranteed to give your guests something they will treasure forever. Already have your invites sorted? They make a great thank you present to send out after the big day. Our favourite design is The Garden.
Blooms, blooms, blooms. So often brides opt for fresh flowers atop their wedding cake. So why not have an experienced florist take care of the cake making too! It was lovely to meet Bethan in person and photograph her stand overflowing in colour. I loved the fresh look of her buttercream icing too.
Okay, so this was definitely one of the places where I did too much talking! Viktoria Novak and her husband Tristan were showcasing her latest collections for 2013 at One Fine Day. My favourites were from the Gold Rush collection (directly bellow) which would compliment a blush gown, gold jewellery or warm skin tones perfectly. Viktoria meticulously  hand makes each piece, allowing her to inject each brides personality in to their custom made pieces.
The beautiful images that come to life on the mood board bellow are the product of Melissa Cauchi Hairdressing's  work for One Fine Day's campaign shoot. I love the soft look that she creates with loose waves, subtle curls and a touch of volume. Melissa's OFD neighbour was Makeup by Megan who I was delighted to meet after hearing so much about. Her makeup services provided the glow and striking eyes of each model, both in the OFD campaign and in previous magazine covers.
This my friends was not only the tastiest nougat I have experienced in my life but the contents of my breakfast for that day. I didn't even make it to the coffee cart before indulging in a few of these bad boys. Needless to say I am a little excited that one of my clients has chosen Aria Catering for their upcoming wedding!
You may remember my favourite Elizabeth Bower piece from my Christmas Gift Guide last year. I was  thrilled to see the other headbands on offer during One Fine Day and was impressed by the variety of their shapes and styles. The delicate nature and fine jewels that make up Elizabeth's pieces compliment a modern streamlined gown perfectly.  They add a subtle and feminine touch to your wedding attire.
Thank you to the girls at One Fine Day for putting together such a great showcase of local tallent. Heres to the next one!

Cheers,
Jess
