In the past my obsession with Elie Saab has reflected my love for pastels, fairy floss and glitter. So to be honest, the thought of wintery hues and Autumn reds makes me want to retreat under the covers a little further. But I must say Elie Saab's Autumn/Winter collection is anything but 'wintery'. He brings warmth to each gown, whether it be with foiled golds or shimmering creams. He has made me re-think beige, teal and the often underdone peach tone.
Bellow is a taste of just some of his masterpiece's. I've chosen the ones that evoke thoughts of far away resorts and Arabian nights. Enjoy...

Is it just me or do the four gowns above make you think of soft flowing resort wear? I absolutely love the teal gown, with sleeves that remind me of a kimono. The sleeveless gown is the epitome of a luxe summer maxi, covered yet cool enough. I'd like to nickname the light blue gown 'Jasmine', after the Aladdin character. Its soft drapery swathed in gold has a regal feel about it, while its full coverage reminds me of a traditional dress from a far away land. Think exotic honeymoon destination, hot sands and balmy nights.

Inspiration for the perfect departure. These two stunners are the ultimate 'going away' dresses. The peach gown is my absolute favourite of the collection. It is vibrant and fresh, not the wish-washy pale peach that often blends in with my skin tone. And as for the cream gown? Simple, clean, conservative, yet sexy...need I say more!

Okay, so I couldn't help myself and had to throw in two of the most sparkling slimline gowns I've ever seen ;-)
I am becoming particularly fond of the thin metallic gold belt used throughout too. It perfectly cinches in at the waist and is strong enough in colour to not get lost amongst the glitter. Again, a gorgeous peach tone takes to the runway. I am sensing some serious bridesmaid inspiration here.

And finally, the show-stoppers of the collection, each with a fuller skirt and gold details. The peach dress works perfectly with such a metallic gold splash. The print is a striking and a very 'Autumn' alternative to floral. The golden wedding gown (complete with veil) is much warmer than traditional shades of white. I love the delicateness of the top paired with such a full skirt and how the lace detailing becomes denser where it skims the floor.
So, the next question is....How will you take a little inspiration from this collection and meld it in to your own wedding?
Xx
